WHAT IS A PROFESSIONAL TOUR GUIDE or TOUR MANAGER?

A PTGAA professional tour guide or tour manager is a person who has extensive industry experience in guiding.

Most members will also have done a Certificate level III (or more) in a tour guiding related course.

Most PTGAA guides and tour managers hold a current senior first aid certificate and tour guide liability insurance.

All members of the PTGAA are bound by a Code of Ethics, ensuring a professional and high standard of conduct.

All new members become accredited Guides of Australia through the National peak industry body GOA.

PTGAA tour guides research, prepare and provide the most memorable and enjoyable interpretive experiences within the prescribed tour itinerary.

PTGAA guides wear a personal photo ID card identifying them as members of the Association.
